Musgrave Supervalu Centra
Distribution Centre, Kilcock
New large distribution warehouse outlet (including
66 loading bays), requiring a high tolerance, jointless steel fibre
reinforced concrete slab with coloured shake on hardener,
which achieved FM2 Special category by FACE Consultants.
Project Duration - 1st July - 17th July 2004
(1,400m2 bays laid each day)
Project Size - 14,000m2
Existing Conditions - New Build
Stages - There were 7 Stages
Stage 1 - Preparation (Protection of internal finished
block work. Setting of levels and fitting isolation material
around walls and columns.) Later compacting of quarry
dust and setting up of Aplha joints.
Stage 2 - PFT managed concrete supply. Addition of super-plasticiser and steel fibre
reinforcement at mixing plant. Checking off slump and
fibre count/distribution before lorry left plant.
Stage 3 - Placement of concrete using our Somero S240 laser
screed.
Stage 4 - Application of the Permaban shake-top hardener
using mechanical spreader. (light grey)
Stage 5 - Power trowel concrete and application of spray
on sealer.
Stage 6 - Saw cutting
Stage 7 - Flatness survey carried out by FACE
Consultants - Project achieved FM2
