Davison's Cannery, Portadown
New distribution warehouse outlet, requiring a steel fibre
reinforced concrete slab with coloured shake on hardener,
which achieved FM2 Special category by FACE Consultants.
Project Duration - 1st March - 7th March 2004
(2000m2 laid each day)
Project Size - 7500m2 (inc yard slabs)
Existing Conditions - Piled ground
Stages - There were 7 Stages
Stage 1 - Preparation (Protection of internal finished
block work. Setting of levels and fitting isolation material
around walls and columns.)
Stage 2 - Addition of super-plasticiser and steel fibre
reinforcement to back off mixing truck. Checking off slump and
fibre count/distribution.
Stage 3 - Placement of concrete using our Somero S240 laser
screed.
Stage 4 - Application of the Permaban shake-top hardener
using mechanical spreader. (light grey)
Stage 5 - Power trowel concrete and application of spray
on acrylic sealer.
Stage 6 - Saw cutting
Stage 7 - Flatness survey carried out by FACE
Consultants - Project achieved FM2
